Welcome to the Ma Laboratory!
Our lab has a special focus on understanding the role of root diversity with respect to evolution, interactions between root and mycorrhizal fungi, and how root turnover rate influences whole ecosystem carbon allocation.We explore root eco-physiological processes across scales ranging from cells to biomes, to better characterize root strategies related to function. We are also very interested in implementing applications of our research into forest management and ecological modeling.
